Pingyao artist brings exhibition to hometown

A painting and calligraphy exhibition by Pingyao-born artist Wen Jinrang, also known as Professor Hanshi, opened in Pingyao on May 20.

A renowned artist and scholar, the professor is famous for his innovative and magnificent paintings showcasing the landscapes and folk customs of China.

Hanshi is currently on a national tour to exhibit his work and Pingyao is his sixth stop. The exhibition includes more than 300 paintings and calligraphy pieces, as well as 50 inkstones made in collaboration with Zou Hongli, an inkstone expert.

During the exhibition's opening ceremony, two pieces were presented to Taiyuan Archives and Pingyao Archives.

The exhibition is free of charge to the public and will be open until May 27.
