A photography exhibition displaying the changes that have taken place in Wenchuan county, Sichuan province since the 2008 earthquake, was held in Pingyao on May 12.

The exhibition was organized by Wang Wuyun, a photographer from Yuncheng city, Shanxi province. Wang had been working as a volunteer when the earthquake struck Wenchuan on May 12, 2008. He continued to work in the area and took thousands of photographs.

The exhibition selected 100 of his photos, showing the damage and reconstruction efforts in the area.

"Wenchuan is now very beautiful and local residents are grateful to all who helped with rescue efforts and reconstruction," said Wang.

I want to show that Wenchuan is back on its feet by coming to a photography center like Pingyao to display my photographs, he added.

Exhibitions of the photographs were held in Pingyao and Yingxiu town, Wenchuan county at the same time.
