A China-Mongolia-Russia Mayors' Roundtable event, as part of the fifth China-Mongolia-Russia Mayors' Summit on the "Tea Road", took place in Pingyao county on May 17.

Attendees proposed suggestions on the development of cities along the Tea Road during the event.

"A communication system among companies in regions along the trade route should be established, advancing information and exchanges among businesses," said Shi Yong, a top official in Pingyao county.

"Activities like project promotion meetings and product fairs are also necessary to bring closer economic ties between related cities," added Shi.

Ren Zhong, deputy mayor of Jinzhong, reported on the achievements of the summit. The summit opened the multilingual official website for the Tourism Association of Cities along the Tea Road, helping promote tourism in related cities. Jinzhong, the host of the international event, gave 40,000 entrance tickets for local tourist attractions to other cities along the Tea Road and publicized preferential tourism policies so as to share tourism resources among these cities.

The roundtable also agreed on revised rules for the Tourism Association of Cities along the Tea Road. Zagdjav Deleg, chairman of the Mongolia Peace and Friendship Organization, was elected chairman of the executive committee of the tourism association.

Yiyang, a city in Central China's Hunan province, was also announced as the host of the sixth China-Mongolia-Russia Mayors' Summit on the "Tea Road".
