"Dream of Pingyao" microfilm contest opens

Collections for the 2016 "Dream of Pingyao" Microfilm Festival opened around the world on June 7, giving a chance for filmmakers to get their work noticed.

All entries are required to be original, less than 30 minutes long and with positive content and themes which show people pursuing their dreams. The quality of the films must be 720x576 or better and be submitted in a digital format such as mpg, mp4 or avi.

The judging criteria will be based upon factors such as storyline, structure, pace, camera work and characters. Additionally, the films must also feature elements of Pingyao and its regional characteristics. There are no limits on the number of entries.

The selection process will consist of three stages, namely preliminary selection, a public vote and finally the experts' choice. The prizes up for grabs are one fold, two silvers, three bronze and 10 honorable mentions.
