Scenic spots in Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort, which is located in Shanghai's Songjiang district, have maintained safe, stable and orderly operations over the recently concluded Dragon Boat Festival holiday that lasted from June 3 to 5, local media outlets reported.

Tourist attractions in the resort partially reopened on June 1 with reservation requirements and visitation limits.

Visitors must undergo body temperature, venue code, Suishen code, health code, and travel code checks, wear masks, and present negative nucleic acid test results taken within 72 hours before visiting the sites during staggered hours, according to COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control requirements.

Shanghai Happy Valley reopened on June 3. At 8:40 am, many tourists were already waiting in line at the entrance to enter the park. A welcome performance was also held at the entrance, adding joy to the festive atmosphere. Twenty minutes later, the gate of the park opened, and tourists entered the park after undergoing COVID-19 checks.

Miss Yang who lives in Sheshan town became the first visitor to enter the park that day, and the staff gave her a cute ant doll as a gift. "I was eager to experience the rides, so I waited at the door around 8 am. I didn't expect to be so lucky to be the first to enter the park. I'm so happy!" she said while hugging the doll.

Shanghai Happy Valley implements an online reservation and ticket purchase mechanism and electronic ticket inspection for contactless entry into the park. In order to ensure safety, the park also carries out strict disinfection procedures for customers, rides and commodities.

Until the end of the month, people who want to visit the park can enjoy half-price tickets, and until the end of the year, medical staff can visit the park for free with valid certificates, according to Gao Bei, deputy general manager of Shanghai Happy Valley, who added that since Shanghai Happy Valley had been closed since March 14 for 81 days, the validity of annual cards will be extended according to the number of days the park was closed.

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden showcased 100 tiger orchids in the shape of a heart at the Gate 1 area to welcome guests with a new look in honor of the Dragon Boat Festival of the Year of the Tiger.

The flowers on display are a white flower variety of the tiger orchid that can resist high temperatures and bright light, with a three-month blooming period.

In addition, the hydrangeas in the garden are blooming, drawing a large number of tourists who want to take pictures.

"The number of people that can enter the park must remain under 50 percent of the park's maximum capacity. After making an appointment through Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden's official WeChat account, visitors are required to enter the park with a negative nucleic acid result taken within 72 hours," said Zhang Zhe, senior engineer of Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden.
