Delegates from Shanghai's Songjiang district promoted the district's culture and tourist attractions at the China International Travel Mart 2019 in Kunming, Yunnan province on Nov 17.

Over 700 exhibitors from 75 countries and regions set up more than 3800 booths to promote a range of items including scenic spots, hotels, airlines, cruise lines, travel agencies and online travel platforms.

The booth for Sheshan National Tourist Resort (Sheshan Resort), a popular resort in Songjiang district, was located in Venue 7 of the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Delegates showcased the resort's major tourist attractions, intangible cultural heritages, and souvenirs and offered booklets to those interested in learning more.

The resort, established in 1995, is the only natural mountain forest resort in Shanghai, offering a view of 12 mountains which stretch 13 kilometers from southwest to northeast.

The resort is making a name for itself through its excellent combination of traditional and modern Chinese culture as well as its natural landscapes.

It is home to attractions such as Happy Valley theme park, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park, where ancient relics dating back to the Neolithic Age were unearthed, and the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, which offers a broad range of plants and rare species.

In 2018, the resort received more than 11.1 million visits, an increase of more than 25 percent year-on-year. Its tourism income was 1.4 billion yuan ($197.09 million), an increase of 6.41 percent year-on-year.
