Shanghai Happy Valley has made elaborate preparations for this year's Halloween, employing high-tech services and assorted activities that include haunted houses, a ghost parade, spooky music, dancing and free ghost like face painting by professional artists.

Eleven brand new evening venues have been tantalizing visitors since Oct 14. The Halloween themed festivities, including virtual reality (VR) haunted house experiences, 3D ghost-themed dramas and films, will continue until Nov 13.

Tourists can wear VR equipment to explore two haunted houses with all their senses engrossed in the frightful delights that await them.

Live broadcasting of the haunted houses will also be posted on TV screens for those waiting in the line.

Other haunted houses with different themes like jails, hostels and mines are guaranteed to satisfy visitors with different tastes.

Wandering ghouls, like mummies and zombies, will go on parade in Happy Valley spontaneously thrilling tourists, or inviting them to engage in games together.

Parties of ghost-themed music, dance and magic shows are for everyone. Thirty professional makeup artists will help everyone to do dawn a ghost-like visage.

Every day after 5:30 pm, 20 exciting game facilities will also open to visitors precipitating the atmosphere of Halloween.

Ticket price: night tickets from 5:30 pm: 100 yuan ($14.96) each from Monday to Thursday; 120 yuan each from Friday to Sunday; 150 yuan each from Oct 28 to 31.
