On the morning of January 2, 2014, Gate 1 of Chenshan Botanical Garden bustled with applause. A total of 25 teams, including staff from the city’s greening bureau, the construction unit of the armed police fire, Shea Tong MTR and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, carried out a fierce tug-of-war competition. More than 500 people were at the scene cheering them on.

Competitive running events and a mountain climbing activity on Chenshan Mountain also took place. This is the last day of 2014 Chenshan Cup New Year Celebration Carnival organized by the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden union.

The sports carnival aimed to enrich the life of Chenshan staff and improve their cohesion and physical fitness. On November 18, 2013, the sports carnival set up four major sections and 20 minor sections, including badminton, table tennis, five people four feet, fixed-point shooting, double darts, snooker, and backgammon. The players were all high in spirits. After each game, they shared their experiences. Chenshan staff showed their strength in a solo project and teamwork skills during a team project, presenting brilliant events with their energy and passion.

The successful tug-of-war, race, and mountain climbing activity created a wonderful atmosphere at the first sports carnival.

Chenshan Park and union leaders have attached great importance to the cultural life of Chenshan staff, organizing various cultural and sports activities according to the needs of staff and the characteristics of Chenshan. The Chenshan Cup Carnival, not only helps workers build physical strength, but also stimulates their indomitable spirit, unity, hard work and innovation. Meanwhile, the carnival provides a communication platform for employees, creating a positive and harmonious working atmosphere.
