Lights, music!

Life Hub@Anting, a shopping mall in Shanghai's suburban Jiading district, has invited visual artist Shi Jindian to create an installation of a giant violin that hangs in the middle of the lobby. A multi-media lighting and concert performance will be given hourly every day during the Chinese New Year.

A Grand gala concert

Shanghai Grand Theater will be closed temporarily for refurbishment from mid-February to October. Before then, the theater will host a special gala concert named See You Soon, presenting highlights of symphonies, operas, musicals and ballets.

A stamp of quality

Chinese artist Tao Hongjing is to hold a solo exhibition. The artist has redefined the use of traditional Chinese seals to depict the drastic changes in Shanghai's contemporary landscape.
