John W. Sorenson and Joseph R. Parinella, design supervisors at the Shanghai Disneyland Landscape Department, led a 20-person design team to visit Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden on Sept 9.

The members of the Shanghai Disneyland design team came from many countries and regions such as the UK, the US, Singapore and Hong Kong. They hope to incorporate Disneyland’s landscape construction with the characteristics of botanical gardens.

The delegation consulted with researchers at Chenshan Botanical Garden regarding plant materials and technology for plant landscape construction. They also visited Quarry Garden, the conservatory and Aquatic Garden and studied aquatic plants, greenhouse plants and ground cover plants in the garden.
