There was a special activity at the Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai recently that was paired with a summer camp whose theme was "Teenagers from all ethnic groups join hands".

The activity drew in 450 teen representatives from all ethnic groups, from various provinces (as well as autonomous regions and municipalities), along with their teachers, the morning of July 26, 2012.

At a special ceremony, teenagers from all the ethnic groups wore brightly colored native costumes holding flowers, put the flowers together in the shape of four Chinese characters for "I love China", to show how the ethnic groups could unite as one and share a love of the motherland.

After the ceremony, a botanical garden guide took the teens on a greenhouse tour and encouraged them to name the flower that best represented their own ethnic region. They could choose from a large array of plants -- more than 3,000 in fact -- many of which come from the various ethnic areas, but now under the thoughtful care of the Chenshan Botanical Garden.
