Yunduan Reading Society, a reading club focused on culture, finance, and technology, was inaugurated on April 23. Ge Jianxiong, a professor at Fudan University, was invited to give a lecture on reading for the inauguration ceremony.

The Reading Society will gather every two weeks and plans to meet in some of Lujiazui's other iconic buildings such as Aurora Tower and China Financial Information Center.

Yunduan Reading Society is modeled on the Lunar Society of Birmingham, England, an informal learned society.

The Lunar Society of Birmingham was formed in 1765 based on the regular meeting of a group of British scientists, engineers, and industrialists. Its members gathered during the full moon to discuss new inventions, developments, and thoughts.
