A “2016 Foreign Experts’ visit to Quancheng” activity was held in Ji'nan on October 13. It aimed to introduce projects, industry funding and talented individuals based on local needs for industrial structural adjustments and upgrading.

Wang Wentao, Party Secretary of Ji'nan, attended the event and met with some of the 100 foreign experts and returned overseas students in attendance. Wang said that the assembled experts and scholars should deliver more speeches on various topics including intelligent manufacturing, information technology, finance, and biological medicine to benefit development in Ji'nan.

The purpose of the event was to attract foreign intellectuals to promote the development. More than 140 high-end foreign talents from 11 countries were invited, including experts in advanced manufacturing, healthcare, information technology, biopharmaceuticals, and new materials. Discussions were held on 342 projects at the event. There were about 20 activities, including three negotiations, one exhibition, three promotional meetings, and five lectures on the role of intelligent manufacturing, industrial financing, cold-chain logistics, smart cities, and technological financing. There was also a forum titled “life technology and industry development”. More than 1,500 individuals, including representatives of 290 enterprises and government offices took part in the event. About 100 intentions to cooperate and 35 contracts were signed.
