Xia Mingjiu meets with delegation from Australian state government

Xia Mingjiu, deputy administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA), met with a delegation from the state of Victoria in Australia in Beijing on June 27.

The delegation was led by Steven Herbert, MP, the state’s Minister of Governmental Training and Skills and Minister of International Education. Tim Dillon, special commissioner of the state of Victoria in China, and councilor Deborah Simmons also attended the meeting.

Xia introduced the functions of SAFEA and recent progress in the introduction of foreign experts. He said China would enhance cooperation with Australia in personal exchanges, education, and academic research. SAFEA would seek further cooperation with the state of Victoria in high-quality training programs of professional management personnel. Herbert introduced Victoria’s advantages, and hoped to conduct more cooperation in medical, new energy, and international education with China.

Other officials also attended the meeting.

What we do

SAFEA is responsible for certifying foreign experts to work in the Chinese mainland and organizing overseas training for Chinese technical and managerial professionals.
