There was a forum on the role of foreign experts at the 11th Sino-American Technology and Engineering Conference, in Beijing, on May 21, with Ma Kai, State Council vice-premier, on hand to address the gathering. Ma, who is also a Party Central Committee Politburo member, said that the conference, which has been held annually since 1993, has achieved a lot in promoting technological innovation in Chinese enterprises and industrial upgrades and can introduce more foreign talent to China, and help protect China’s intellectual property rights.

Ma said he hopes that the conference will provide more ideas for the development of technology, manufacturing, and green development in China.
