Liu Yanguo, deputy head of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA), led a delegation to Canada and the United States in early May.
The delegation attended the roundtable conference on international talented personnel held in Canada, discussing topics such as skilled migration policies.
While in the US, they also visited the America Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and the International Executive Service Corps (IESC), talking about sending senior US executives to volunteer in China.
They also called on the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) and Georgetown University to learn about US migration and policies at meetings with Demetrios G. Papademetriou, MPI’s president, and Anna Maria Mayda, associate professor at the university.
