SAFEA discusses equal education issue

The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) holds a meeting on April 25 to discuss what Jeffrey S. Lehman, vice-chancellor of New York University's Shanghai campus (NYU Shanghai), recently put forward to Premier Li Keqiang on equal education opportunities.

The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) held a meeting on April 25 to discuss what Jeffrey S. Lehman, vice-chancellor of New York University's Shanghai campus (NYU Shanghai), recently put forward to Premier Li Keqiang on equal education opportunities.

He also recommended that China should establish top universities and foster innovative talented personnel, during a meeting with President Xi Jinping at a symposium of foreign experts on Dec 5, 2013.

Participants of the discussion included Jeffrey S. Lehman; Zeng Tianshan, vice-president of the National Institute of Education Sciences; Liu Yongzhi, director of the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel; Lei Fengyun, deputy director of SAFEA’s Cultural and Educational Experts Department; and Li Bei, vice-inspector of SAFEA’s Policies and Regulations Department.
