Zambian President visits POWERCHINA exhibition booth

Zambian President Edgar Lungu and his delegation visited the exhibition booth of POWERCHINA at the Northern Province Investment Expo in Kasama city, Northern Province on Dec 24.

President Lungu showed great interest in the static water environment treatment project being presented. He praised POWERCHINA as a global enterprise with significant influence in the international engineering contracting market.

He said that Zambia's largest energy project, Kafue Gorge Lower Hydropower Station constructed by POWERCHINA, will help upgrade Zambia's power supply and create employment.

President Lungu listened carefully to a briefing on POWERCHINA's development history in Zambia. He also watched a 3D planning video detailing the Kalungwishi River- Mweru Wantipa Lake connecting the channel-dredging and water environment management projects.

He showed great interest in the project and made detailed inquiries about its progress, including the project plan, estimated construction period and impact on regional economic development.

He expressed his approval of the project plan and hoped that POWERCHINA could successfully carry out the project to drive the economic development of the Northern Province and improve the living standards of local people.

He added that the Zambian government will offer its full support to the project.

The expo was held in Kasama, the capital of Zambia's Northern Province, from Nov 20 to 24. With the slogan "Unlocking Investment Opportunities 100 Years after the End of the First World War", the event attracted dozens of companies from all over the world.

After receiving an invitation to the event, POWERCHINA set up a 3x3-meter booth. Their wall displayed the company's achievements in water environment management, infrastructure construction, and energy development.

High-definition display equipment played POWERCHINA's publicity and project performance videos, which were successful in attracting visitors. Some exhibitors expressed their intention to cooperate with POWERCHINA in the future.
