Jilin provincial education authorities have sent more than 1,000 teachers from all over the province, this year to Changchun, the provincial capital where they've been examining the scores on "Gaokao" papers, June 12 - 18, to ensure that all 123,000 of the papers are correct, at two universities.

Each of the 1,300 teachers is expected to check a certain number of questions on the paper, said Zou Yongkui, a team leader who is a math professor at Jilin University, and adding, "We have seven teams all together, each of which marks just one section of a math paper."

Zou's school is in charge of math, English and science papers, while Northeast Normal University is responsible for Chinese language. In addition to the multiple checker approach, the education officials are also organizing quality control teams to check to see that there is not even a single error in the grades.
