Top Chinese political advisor tours NE China

Yu Zhengsheng, the chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference's National Committee, paid a 3-day visit to Jilin province to get a look at its private sector and Korean ethnic groups, March 28-30.

During his trip, the top Chinese political advisor said he considers the development of Jilin's private sector very important and spoke with the heads of small-to-mid-sized companies about their operations, management, market share and employment.

In relation to this, Yu said that the government will support private sector development and will find ways to lighten their burdens. In the city of Yanji, in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, which has the largest concentration of Koreans in China, he spoke with villagers about their daily lives and asked government officials to improve their livelihood, education, health care, pensions, and poverty situation which are fundamental to their "sense of happiness".
