2014-12-04

"The China-Russia Agriculture Fair will promote economic cooperation between the two countries," said Wang Lu, deputy mayor of Changchun.

"Each country has its own advantages in agricultural products, thus leaving a large space for complementary relationships."

The China-Russia agricultural products fair was held in Changchun, Jilin province, on Dec 2, with the participation of around 73 agriculture-related companies from both countries.

The fair plays a vital role in further deepening cooperative ties, particularly between Jilin province and cities in Russia’s Far East region which intends to explore potential Chinese markets.

It also helps to expand possible cooperative areas, Russian participants said. The latter also said that they would expand their business to agricultural machinery next year.

The Expo is the premier space for agricultural entities of the two regions to better understand each other and to discuss issues concerning enlarging regional agricultural cooperation.

Paltov Sergey, Consul-General of the Russian Federation in Shenyang, said in the opening ceremony of the fair, "More Russian companies will be interested in the expo as the two regions speed up their cooperation."
