Jilin's new leaders want to enforce the rule of law

Some new leaders in Jilin province are calling for legal reforms in provincial government including the newly elected governor and head of the People’s Congress Standing Committee, who spoke about new government plans at the 12th provincial People's Congress, on Thursday morning, Oct 29.

Bayanqolu, the new congressional head, said that his overall task is to advance the rule of law and provincial economic reforms and to revitalize its industrial sector.

Following up on this, the new provincial governor, Jiang Chaoliang, emphasized the need for accountability in provincial governance and said that revitalizing Jilin’s industry and offering people a better way of life are his administration’s priorities.

Ba and Jiang were selected for their positions at the Third Session of the 12th People's Congress. Bayanqolu was elected director of the standing committee of Jilin Provincial People’s Congress, and Jiang Chaoliang as its governor.
