Zhangjiagang students win awards at intl underwater competition

The 12th International Underwater Robot Competition was recently held in Qingdao, Shandong province.

Five students from Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Zhangjiagang campus won the first and second prizes.

The event is the first professional international underwater robot competition initiated by China and sponsored by the International Underwater Robot Federation.

This year's contest set up 16 events of five categories and attracted 331 teams from 57 collages including Tsinghua University and Peking University.

In the contest, the robot fish is set to head the ball into the goal along the program route written by the player. Players will be through the computer and the monitor to instruct the fish. The five winners from School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Jiangsu University of Science and Technology had received training, learning and how to make robots during the summer holiday.

In recent years, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Zhangjiagang Campus has built innovation and practice bases for college students and encourage college students to take part in innovation and entrepreneurship competition and some achieved good results in China's engineering robot competitions.
