Shuangshan Island enjoys a warm climate, sufficient sunshine and abundant rainfall, which nurtures a range of succulent loquats.

The area now boasts a loquat planting area of more than 66,666 square meters.

As one of the earliest fruit to ripen in southern Jiangsu ever summer, loquats in Shuangshan usually have their best harvest time from late May to early June.

The island ushered in the peak season for loquat picking last week, and local tourist officials are urging families to come and spend their leisure time there in the early June.
