Intangible cultural heritages festival launched

Zhangjiagang launched the 2019 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day activity in Fenghuang town on June 1, showcasing a wide range of local intangible heritages such as Yangko, a popular rural folk dance, sugar-figure blowing and dough figurines.
At the opening ceremony, the city also released the second batch of Zhangjiagang intangible cultural heritage institute list. Six institutes were included such as the Handmade Cotton Strapping Techniques Exhibition Hall.
Some traditional intangible heritages including bamboo weaving, pyrograph and plum blossom cake making were also displayed at the opening ceremony, attracting much attention.
The intangible heritage cultural festival will lasts until November, with 46 activities including folk literature, traditional craftsmanship and local operas.
