The 2019 Zhangjiagang Tai Chi Competition was held on Shuangshan Island in Zhangjiagang on April 13.

A total of 500 tai chi practitioners gathered on Shuangshan Island to showcase their techniques. Tai chi is one of the most popular forms of exercise in China, especially among the elderly.

The martial art, which combines slow fluid movements, deep breathing and meditation, has been practiced in China for centuries.

Every movement in tai chi embodies one fundamental concept in traditional Chinese philosophy - harmony.
