Zhangjiagang has organized a series of festival activities to entertain local residents ahead of the traditional Lantern Festival.

Lantern Festival, or yuanxiaojie in Chinese, which comes on the 15th day of the first lunar month, is the first festival after the celebration of Lunar New Year in China.

Some folk traditions are widespread on that day such as eating Yuanxiao, sweet dumplings made with glutinous rice flour, guess lantern riddles and enjoy beautiful lanterns.

Zhangjiagang Children's Library will host a guessing lantern riddles activity for residents from Feb 16 to 19 to enjoy the traditional Lantern Festival.

Additionally, wind-bell making campaign will be also held for children in the age between three and six at 13: 00 on Feb 16. A paper-cutting activity will be offered for children in the age between five and 12 at 9:00 on Feb 17.
