Zhanjiagang invests $9.8b to support 92 projects

Zhangjiagang, a port city in East China's Jiangsu province plans to invest a total of 68.3 billion yuan ($ 9.8 billion) to build 92 industrial projects in 2018.
Accordingly, 38 projects have been completed with a total investment of 9.3 billion yuan; 54 projects started on Oct 20 with a total investment of 59 billion yuan.
Those projects covered various fields such as advanced manufacturing, technology and innovation and producer service industries.
Shen Guofang, the Party secretary of Zhangjiagang city, said at the launch ceremony for pro-environment project of Shagang Group that the project will receive an investment of 8.5 billion yuan and once built, it will bolster Shagang’s development in great extent and also help Zhangjiagang city's green development.
Huang Ji, the mayor of Zhangjiagang city, delivered a speech at the launch ceremony for Jatco project in Zhangjiagang Economic and Development Zone.
He said Zhangjiagang city focuses on high-quality development and will spare no efforts in promoting construction of those advanced projects.
Japanese Jatco Company is one of the largest continuously variable transmission (CVT) manufacturers in the world. With the support of local government, the project will help local economic development and industrial upgrading.
