A series of public activities were launched in Zhangjiaggang, the beautiful port city in Jiangsu province, on March 3 to mark International Ear Care Day.

The event was organized by the Zhangjiagang Disabled Persons' Federation to help local residents be more aware of how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care.

A lecture about hearing rehabilitation knowledge was held in the morning. Experts offered tips on how to use hearing aids correctly and how to improve hearing for 60 hearing-impaired children and their parents.

The organization also provided free hearing tests for over 350 local residents, and gave out brochures about hearing health and advice on how to protect our ears.

International Ear Care Day, which is celebrated annually in March 3, has been raising awareness and promoting ear care across the world since 2013. The theme of the 2018 international Ear Care Day is "hearing the future".
