Changyinsha in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province, is gearing up to open its month-long rape flower festival on March 18 as fields across the area transform into a sea of bright yellow.

Visitors to the festival will be greeted with an idyllic scene as they stroll through acres of blooming rape flowers, with thousands of windmills rotating in the breeze and colorful pansies and corn poppy blossom dotted around.

Flower enthusiasts will be able to get an even better view of the golden flower sea from the onsite hot air balloon, which will be offering visitors rides throughout the festival.

Those preferring to keep their feet on the ground can relax watching the performances on the drama stage set among the fields of flowers, or enjoying the soft melodies of the traditional Chinese music played by the festival band.
