The Changyinsha Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province, an agriculture industrial park and scenic spot, witnessed booming tourism and economy in 2014 with a focus on tourism and agriculture.

From January to November, Changyinsha's public financial budgetary revenue reached 52.88 million yuan ($8.6 million), up 16 percent compared to the same period last year.

As an agriculture demonstration park, it put in 15 million yuan to reconstruct 466-odd hectares of farmland and improve agriculture production. It also invested over 14 million yuan on a comprehensive agriculture service center that will have 95 storage houses for farm machines, a 2,000-square-meter rice processing area, and a farm machine service station to offer farmers repair and maintenance services.

In addition, the park has pushed forward its cooperation with universities, supermarkets, restaurants and e-commerce platforms. This year, its sales volume of agricultural products is expected to top 70 million yuan.

Changyinsha is also a national 3A-level tourist attraction highlighting flower tours, autumn rural tours and fruit-picking tours. It has planted various flowers, including rape flowers, lavenders and horsetails. It has also introduced a maze from Disney and some other interactive activities to provide visitors with more exciting tourism experiences.

In addition to exploring some new tourism models such as recuperation tourism for the retired, the park aims to join hands with neighboring scenic spots and tourist agencies for joint tourism development, as well as to promote tourism among primary and middle schools.
