Suzhou National Wetland Park will hold the 4th Lakeside Beach Festival from June 28 to August 31, Suzhou Daily reports. It will be a good choice for residents and tourists to escape the heat this summer.

Suzhou National Wetland Park has launched summer discount cards for the Lakeside Beach Festival: 320 yuan ($51.2) for ten entries, which could be a good choice for families.

With the theme Ice World in Summer, the festival this year is working to create a winter atmosphere in the hot summer for visitors. The wetland park will install sprayers on squares and at beach rest areas. Meanwhile, it will make model icebergs, glaciers and hundreds of model penguins from the South Pole.

New recreational activities on water will be included this year, for example, cool fog swimming pools, ice adventures and water wars. Traditional activities like beach treasure hunting, and water sports meetings will continue. The film Water Kingdom of King Kong will be on at the time, which will take the audience to an adventure in the underwater world.

During the Lakeside Beach Festival, there will be performances on the water every weekend. Visitors can also enjoy barbecues and Taihu delicacies on the lakeside beach.

The lakeside beach of the wetland park covers an area of 40,000 square meters. It is the biggest natural bathing beach in Suzhou, and can hold 10,000 visitors. With beautiful environment, quality water and interesting water sports, it has attracted nearly 200,000 visitors since 2011.
