Zhangjiagang sets up Yangtze River culture promotion association

The first general meeting of the Yangtze River Culture Promotion Association was held in Zhangjiagang on March 22, setting a milestone in the city’s cultural development.
The Yangtze River Culture Promotion Association, organized by units and individuals keen on Yangtze River culture, is an academic and non-profit social organization.
The association will play an important role in studying, preserving and developing Yangtze River culture. It aims to work with cultural departments and social groups, jointly build an open communication system of Yangtze River culture, and promote the cultural industry for regions along the Yangtze River.
Zhangjiagang will render full support to the association’s development by creating a favorable environment for cultural protection and transmission.
The city government is also calling on member units to work to ensure the orderly operation of the association and enhance cultural exchange and cooperation among areas along the Yangtze River.
Tao Siyan, director of the Institute of Oriental Culture of Southeast University, was elected as the president of the association.
