Nanfeng town in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province has been approved as a national learning community demonstration town, the first of its kind in the city.

Nanfeng town has focused on community learning in recent years, trying to provide personalized education for local residents to satisfy the demands of different people.

The town has spent 80,000 yuan ($13,218) to build an online learning platform in 2013. After logging in, residents will be able to read books and newspapers for free. Schools in the town have opened nine majors for elderly people, covering topics such as computers, painting and dance.

Regulations for sharing education resources have been released in the town to ensure everyone has access to education resources. Schools have also opened learning facilities.
