The first town-level social worker association in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province was established in the Yangtze International Metallurgical Industrial Park in Jinfeng town.

The association will be responsible for social worker registration, training and communication in order to improve service of social workers.

The town has done much to construct social worker teams. In 2013, 64 people passed the qualification exam, 2.7 times the number 5 years ago.

A total of 87 people in the town have received social worker professional level certifications and are now working in governments, societies, villages, communities, schools and hospitals.

The association’s staff said they will help to regulate social worker behavior, improve worker professional qualities, encourage charity to meet demands, and develop a lively and harmonious culture.
