Kailai is an ancient tea house from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Reconstruction of the tea house began in Mudu ancient town of Jiangsu province and is set to complete in April 2014.

It will be an important attraction for Shantang Street and a good place for tea and opera lovers.

According to the plan, Kailai Tea House will cover an area of 435 square meters. It is a two-story ancient-style architecture built with bricks and wood. The style was kept the same as other houses in the town.

Mudu town has focused on five streets in recent years, including Shantang, Xiasha, Zhongshi, Xijie and Nanjie. Shantang Street will be a cultural area with historical tours. Historical sites along the street are being reconstructed.
