Many Zhangjiagang residents go to Changyinsha Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park to pick oranges. Since it opened at the end of October, more than 50 people on average have visited the park daily.

More than 1,000 people in total have visited the park to date, and around 5,000 kilograms of oranges were sold.

Changxing community is a major area for orange picking. An employee of the community said the output of oranges is not quite good this year, only 40 percent compared to last year. As a result, the price is 5 yuan per kilogram, 1 yuan higher than last year.

However, oranges are sweeter this year due to the hot summer. A man bought more than 40 kilograms at once and said he would give his relatives and friends oranges as presents.

The park will be open until early December. According to the employee, bigger oranges may not be as sweet. Those with a yellow color, shiny appearance and weight of 75 grams are the best.
