A conference was held in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province to decide on the focus of volunteer work in the next period on November 23.

Yang Fang, head of the publicity department of CPC Zhangjiagang municipal committee, visited the volunteer service station at the cultural center, the Jinfeng town volunteer service center, and the service center of Shuyuan community and Hexing community in Jinfeng town.

Yang said the city aims to receive the honor of “National Cultural City” for the fourth year in 2014, suggesting the theme for volunteer work in the next period be taking care of others, society and nature.

More volunteer service projects will begin to meet social demands. More volunteers will be recruited, and the system will be perfected.

Three levels of volunteer service stations will be established – city, town and village – to specify work all over the city.

Yang also called for attention on online events to attract residents to participate.
