The Zhangjiagang online citizen service system has been put into use officially in the city in Jiangsu province.

Offering 66 services from 31 government departments, the system can be used after city citizens register on the website and set up their own citizen page.

The page includes three parts: my service, my space and my voice.

The service section offers six functions, including medical care, life service and transportation. Gu Yongxuan, leader of the project, said that in the past citizens had to go to the service center several times for a temporary identification card if they lost theirs. Now, they can submit necessary forms online and check how long it will take. Then they can pick up their temporary ID card at the service center.

If citizens have questions, suggestions or complaints, they are able to get replies after submitting questions in the my voice section. In my space, all the details regarding issues processed on the website are available for citizens to check.

Those who want to open their citizen page can log in at the Zhangjiagang citizen webpage (http://www.zjgsmwy.com/).

The service is expected to be available on mobile phones, iPads and TV.
