Village carnival to kick off

The annual Yonglian village carnival will kick off in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province on September 29, 2013.

Animal stars will perform during the carnival. According to Jiang Wei, manager of the Suzhou Jiangnan Farming Cultural Garden, visitors can see bears riding bicycles, dogs skipping rope, monkeys wire-walking, parrots calculating and weightlifting, and birds holding money in their mouth. The performance is interesting for both parents and kids.

Go-karts are expected to attract youths. It is exciting but safety is always most important.

Visitors are also able to join in other events at the carnival. Treasure hunting is good for families. Masters will perform unique skills. A farm work competition will also be held.

Besides events, food is also important. The carnival organizer is hosting a promotion – tasting a pair of crabs from the Yangtze River for only 30 yuan ($4.90).

The carnival ends on October 20.
