A conference of leading cadres of Zhangjiagang was held in the city of Jiangsu province on August 8. The Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPC nominated Zhu Lifan as the mayoral candidate of Zhangjiagang. Yao Linrong will not be the mayor of the city, according to an announcement of the conference. The CPC Suzhou municipal committee appointed Zhu Lifan as deputy secretary of the Suzhou municipal committee.

Zhou Naixiang, mayor of Suzhou and deputy secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Committee, introduced Zhu Lifan at the conference. Zhou also urged leading cadres of Zhangjiagang to support the work of Yao Linrong and Zhu Lifan to guarantee a stable and smooth transition of the city’s leadership.

Zhu Lifang expressed his appreciation to the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPC and the CPC Suzhou municipal committee for their trust. He said he feels honored to be one of Zhangjiagang’s residents and will take responsibility for the city’s modernization process.
