The "Health Care Forum and Talent Summit Forum", an important part of the 2019 Wuxi Conference of Talents and Innovation, was held in WND on May 7. More than 100 high-level talents gathered at the Science & Business Center in WND to discuss about health care and innovative development.

Deputy Mayor Liu Xia attended the forum and said she hoped participants would help to increase exchange and cooperation in areas such as the integrated development of "talents + industries" and the innovative application of cutting-edge technologies.

With the recent boost in life science technology, the health care industry has been experiencing rapid development, and WND plays an important role as home to a number of health-related companies. During the forum, six projects were signed, injecting new vitality into the district's life science and technology industry chain. In addition, many talents offered their views on the area's health industry and talent introduction policies.

Kong Xiangjian, chairman of Jiangsu Yougu Biotechnology co., LTD, spoke highly of the achievements WND has made over the past decade in terms of the layout and development of its life science industry. He said that after adjusting its industrial structure, WND introduced many top enterprises, including some top 500 enterprises, which are taking a leading position in the country. Kong also pointed out that innovation is a crucial component for any industry. Innovation in research and development, management and operation is essential.

Wang Jing, deputy chief engineer of the National Innovation Institute of Additive Manufacturing, shared his suggestions on talent introduction policies: first, provide help with accommodation; second, establish an office to deal with any problems concerning high-level talents, so that talents can concentrate on their work and feel more welcome. Such strategies could emulate other parts of the country, he added.

Wang also said he could feel that Wuxi is very willing to open to the outside world and has the strength and determination to form a complete biomedical industrial chain. So it is very exciting that Wuxi has decided to pay more and more attention to the life science industry.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
