Several dazzling scientific and technological developments are demonstrating that Wuxi National High-tech District is a hot spot for innovation.

One of the latest results is the NDCode, developed by Jiangsu GMKW Technology Co. The invisible identification code is based on nanotechnology and optical theory, usable for all kinds of metal parts. By scanning the code, the company said, the origins of the metal parts are traceable no matter what kinds of products - vehicles, household appliances, robots - in which they are eventually used.

"In recent years, WND has been devoting efforts to serving scientific and technological innovation and actively developing high-tech industries. The output value of internet of things, integrated circuits, software, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other industries has maintained a growth rate of more than 10 percent," an official from the management committee of WND said.

Numerous enterprises have stepped into the spotlight with their breakthroughs in core technologies.

One of them is Hanhe Aviation Technology Co, which is specializing in developing unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs.

"The UAV is equipped with intelligent sensors, which can collect real-time field information and feed back to the decision-making system. This provides a basis for the establishment of a large modern agricultural database," said Sun Xiangdong, general manager of the company.

The company has independently developed a series of leading technologies such as binocular obstacle avoidance, binocular vision height setting, big data return and remote management.

Even people without any experience can quickly learn to operate the UAV.

According to the company, many types of its UAVs have entered mass production. Among them is the star product - Mercury 1 - which fills a gap in the industry with a carrying capacity reaching 20 kilograms.

In order to gather more elements for scientific and technological innovation, WND also actively builds platforms to serve enterprises in all aspects.

Last year, Jiangsu Internet of Things Innovation Center and Jiangsu Internet of Things Industry Technology Innovation Center were unveiled. They are expected to achieve breakthroughs in key technologies of the IoT industry, such as intelligent hardware, intelligent information processing and information security. They will also promote the development of high-level innovation and entrepreneurship talent.

At present, there are 31 innovation centers, entrepreneurship spaces and incubators in the district. Meanwhile, there are 79 entrepreneurship team members, 112 entrepreneurship mentors and more than 400 research and development institutions. In addition, funds, risk guarantees and corporate syndicates are also set up for the development of enterprises.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
