Water: The daily water supply is 2 million tons and the planned daily water supply for the district is 500,000 tons, with a water capacity of 300,000 tons per day.

Sewage disposal: There are sewage pipes going directly to a sewage treatment plant with a current daily sewage disposal capacity of 100,000 tons.

Natural gas: Gas pipelines are reserved for all arterial traffics.

Coal gas: This is available upon demand.

Other gas: H2, O2, N2 are available and industrial LNG is available as needed. There is a natural gas station planned and there is a pipe network that has been in service since the end of 2003.

Heating: The district uses central heating with a daily steam supply of 200 tons at a temperature of 250 C, and a heating capacity of 200 tons per day.

Telecommunications: The district has an international program-controlled telecommunications office with a 100,000-line capacity and connections to the Internet and broadband optical cable available.

Logistics: A canal dock that can accommodate cargo ships of up to 200-250 tons is under construction, with connections to ports nationwide and overseas via the Yangtze River and a container freight station with an annual handling capacity of 20,000 tons.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
