Caterpillar (China) Machinery Components Co (CMCC)

Caterpillar (China) Machinery Components Co, established in 2005, is located in the Wuxi New District, Jiangsu province, with manufacturing space of 101,000 square meters set on 19 hectares (49 acres). It owns three independent facilities that design and manufacture hydraulic and powertrain components and operator stations, and manages a specialty products leased facility for the assembly of hose components. By 2012, it has nearly 1,400 employees.

Caterpillar R&D Center (China) Co (CRDC)

Caterpillar Research & Development Center (China) Co is headquartered in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, and has branches in Qingdao, Tianjin and Wuxi. The company aims to provide cost competitive, world-class research and development and intellectual property management services to support the implementation and execution of Caterpillar's strategies in China and growth markets. It supports Caterpillar's manufacturing facilities and supplier base in the region, allows Caterpillar to be closer to customers and take advantage of regional engineering talent, and develop market-leading products beyond customers' expectations.

Perkins Power Systems Technology (Wuxi) Co

Established in September 2008, Perkins Power Systems Technology (Wuxi) Co is wholly owned by Caterpillar. With an area of 135,000 square meters, the company produces the Perkins 1100 Series engines for Cat core construction equipment as well as supplying OEMs in agriculture and other industry.

Perkins Shibaura Engines (Wuxi) Co

Established in December 2007, Perkins Shibaura Engines (Wuxi) Co is a joint venture between Perkins Engines Company Limited, a Caterpillar subsidiary, and its long-time small engine partner IHI Shibaura Machinery Co. The plant occupies an area of 30, 000 square meters, and mainly manufactures the Perkins 400 Series engines for OEMs who produce small construction, agriculture, turf and material handing machines as well as generator sets.

The Wuxi New District (formerly Wuxi Hi-tech Zone) was established in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
