Matsusaka, Japan and Wuxi's Binhu district signed to become sister cities on March 1, 2009.

Matsusaka is a city located in central Mie Prefecture, and east to the isewan. Matsusaka covers an area of about 623.82 square kilometers, occupying about 10.8% of the total area of Mie Prefecture with mountains in its west part, hilly area in the central part and vast plains in the east part. Households of Matsusaka are 61,616 with a population of 168,973. The National Statistics issued the data in 2000 that 82,997 persons in Matsusaka participated in jobs and GDP of Matsusaka reached Japanese Yen 588.448 billion, covering 8.5% of the total of Mie Prefecture.
