The busy week-long Spring Festival holiday saw 135 flights carrying 19,400 passengers pass through Wuxi Sunan International Airport from Jan 27 to Feb 2, according to official data from Wuxi Customs.

Compared with the same period during the previous year, the number of flights and passengers increased 6.2 percent and 20.8 percent respectively.

Many local residents opted for outbound travel rather than experiencing the crowded scenic spots at home during the holiday, enjoying a special on charter flights that will last until the end of March.
