AstraZeneca China, a multinational pharmaceutical giant, has unveiled its plan to build Wuxi into an internet of things (IoT) health demonstration zone.

Wang Quan, mayor of Wuxi, met with Wang Lei, CEO of AstraZeneca China, to have an in-depth discussion on the progress of the city's IoT health system on Jan 9.

The innovative IoT health system created by AstraZeneca shall provide patients with a comprehensive health management process covering prevention, diagnosis and follow-up tracking.

The British-Swedish pharmaceutical giant has had a production base in Wuxi since 2001, investing a total of $555 million in the city. After years of development, the Wuxi base has become the production, sales and logistics distribution center for AstraZeneca in the Asia-Pacific region.
