Alibaba joins hands with Wuxi to build smart city

The Wuxi government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on "Internet Plus and Smart City" with Alibaba Group on Jun 29, reported Wuxi Daily.

Under the agreement, the two sides aim to expand their cooperation in smart city, Internet Plus, cloud computing, big data, e-commerce, credit systems and upgrading manufacturing industries.

At the signing ceremony, Wang Quan, Mayor of Wuxi, described the great prospects for the cooperation with the global e-commerce giant. The city is now focusing its development on IT-prominent emerging industries and Alibaba's strength in tech, and incredible resources will undoubtedly make it an essential partner.

Fang Jiansheng, vice president of Alibaba, said that Wuxi is a major part of their business. He said Alibaba was more than prepared to help Wuxi upgrade its industries and improve its development opportunities.
