As principal of Etonhouse International School Wuxi, Jenny Wong is a qualified teacher with over 30 years of experience.

She has worked as a classroom teacher, education consultant and other leadership roles in her home country of Australia.

When she decided to work overseas, her father suggested she go to China – her father's hometown.

Since joining EtonHouse, a Singapore-based educational group, in 2008, she has worked in Jinan, Shandong province, Yiwu, Zhejiang province, Suzhou, Jiangsu province and now Wuxi.

Having lived in Wuxi for only 18 months, Jenny said "I actually enjoy Wuxi more than Suzhou". "Wuxi is smaller, but it's less crowded and more peaceful," she added.

Jenny told reporters that she loves the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal very much, which reflects China's "amazing history". This is a must-see during her brother's and sister's visit in Wuxi.

In addition, she often visits alleys in downtown Wuxi, where old architecture is very Chinese and the new is very modern – they contrast but are well integrated.

She is proud of being a teacher. Her 30 years career has brought challenges, great rewards and wonderful relationships with children.

She said that Etonhouse Wuxi has some 150 students from over 20 countries like Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, England, and the US. The students are from two to 15 years old.

She very much appreciates the diversity of students and families in EtonHouse International Schools in China and the uniqueness each one brings to the school culture.
